NATZKE=NEATE CONCERT

OPERA HOUSE—MONDAY NIGHT. On Monday night, in the Opera House, the famous New Zealand bass singer. Mr Oscar Natzke. will give his eagerly-awaited concert in conjunction with the young Australian tenor. Mr Kenneth Neate. Mr Henri Penn, the well-known English pianist, will contribute a group of solos as well as providing the accompaniments. These three artists, who are touring under the direction of Mr D. D. O'Connor began their New Zealand season at Auckland on February 22, when a capacity audience accorded them a tremendously enthusiastic reception, falsifying, as far as Mr Natzke is concerned, the old adage that a prophet has no honour in his own country. It is widely believed among musicians that Mr Natzke may come to be regarded as the greatest singer of the present day. and it is satisfying to know that New Zealand audiences have been quick to appreciate his unique gifts while he is yet in his prime. Mr Neate. too, has won many admirers by his unaffected and sincere art, while Mr Henri Penn, both as a soloist and accompanist, is a very competent pianist.
