Shortage of Wiremen.

“There is a grave shortage of electrical wiremen," said Mr. G. Brown, Secretary-Manager of the Wairarapa Electric Power Board, at a meeting of the board in Carterton yesterday afternoon. Mr. Brown stated that, he had advertised all over New Zealand on three occasions. No applications had been received in two instances, but in the third he had received a reply from a man in Southland. "While the man was travelling here he received a job at £8 a week, and we heard nothing more of him,” added Mr. Brown.
