EXPANSION IN CANADA. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) OTTAWA, March 18. The' Minister of Supply, Mr Howe, announced that steel production was now 2,700,000 tons yearly. “We intend to move heaven and earth to increase the output and also to complete shipping facilities at St. John and Halifax before ports in the St. Lawrence freeze in the autumn,” he said. “Meanwhile every shipyard is working to capacity on a 2,000,000-ton programme, while production of corvettes and minesweepers has far exceeded expectations.”
