LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST COLD AND SHOWERY. PROSPECTS OF FINE WEEKEND. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— GENERAL SITUATION: The recent extensive disturbance is now centred south of Chatham Island while an anti-cyclone is located in the Tasman Sea. FORECAST. — Strong southerly winds, reaching gale force on coast; weather cold, changeable and showery. FURTHER OUTLOOK, — Wind slowly decreasing and weather improving with prospects of fine weekend.
