VISIT OF FAMOUS SINGERS
OSCAR NATZKE AND KENNETH NEATE. . On February 22, Oscar Natzke and Kenneth Neate commenced their New Zealand tour at His Majesty’s Theatre, Auckland, before a crowded and wildly enthusiastic audience. Commenting on the performance the “Auckland Star" said; “Oscar Natzke on Saturday night left his audience in no doubt as to the. reason of his unparalleled success in the world of song. Undoubtedly he has a voice of noble quality, but, much more than that, he is a great artist. He possesses, in abundance, the rare gift of being able to shed a new and more attractive light upon well-known masterworks. . . . Mr. Kenneth Neate must be reckoned among ,the finest tenors Australia has sent us. He should prove to be a great draw wherever he sings. . . Mr. Henri Penn was recalled many times, the audience being loth to let this exceptionally fine pianist leave the platform.” The box plans will open tomorrow for the appearance of these noted artists at Masterton on Monday, March 24.
