The acting-Prime Minister, Mr Fadden, announced tonight that seven American warships would arrive in Sydney on Thursday morning and that after the welcoming ceremonies a large body of naval ratings would march through the city. The units comprise the cruisers Portland. 9,800 tons, and Chicago. 9,300 tons, and the destroyers Clark, Reid. Conygham. Cussing and Downes. The squadron, which is under the command of Rear-Admiral J. H. Newton, will be treated to a round of entertainment, including a dinner at the City Town Hall and gubernatorial festivities in keeping with the occasion.
