BRITISH WOMEN IN PARIS. SENTENCES OF IMPRISONMENT FOR LIFE. (Ry Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) PARIS, March 17. The death sentences which the Germans passed on two British women. Winifred Harle and Florence Frickard have been commuted to life imprisonment. Both have been sent to Germany. It was announced in November that the Germans had sentenced to death ait Englishwoman, Winifred Harle, proprietress of a secretarial establishment in Paris. It was believed that she was accused of listening to 8.8. C. broadcasts and distributing copies. The American authorities persuaded Berlin to reconsider the case. Florence Frickard was also reported to have been sentenced to death in Paris.
