GOLD MINING

COMPANY RETURNS. •Wellington Alluvials Limited reports that during the four weeks ended March 1 the dredge worked 475 hours handling 243.050 yards of material and recovered bullion estimated to contain 433 ounces of fine gold. There was a considerable delay during the period caused by turning the dredge away from the temporary course adopted for safety purposes during the recent floods, and as a result of this diversion a large quantity of previously-dredged ground was rehandled. For the first half of March the Barrytown dredge return was 256 ounces. 234 hours. 107,000 cubic yards: Kanieri, 609 ounces. 205 hours, 126.000 cubic yards; Arahura, 348 ounces, 262 hours, '142,000 cub’c yards.
