BREMEN ABLAZE

MAMMOTH GERMAN LINER DIFFICULT JOB FOR FIREMEN. CAUSE OF OUTBREAK UNKNOWN. The crack German 50,000-ton liner Bremen was reported today by the 8.8. C. to be still burning fiercely at Bremen. The fire broke out on Sunday and firemen were at work all day yesterday trying to suppress the flames. A German report states that the cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained. The docks and shipyards at Bremen were heavily attacked by the R.A.F. in the laiter part of last week. GERMAN REPORT (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) BERLIN, March 17. It is officially stated that a fire, the origin of which is undisclosed, broke out on the liner Bremen yesterday and is still burning. The Bremen’s whereabouts is not revealed.
