FAREWELL SERVICES

MISS FAIRBROTHER HONOURED. FUNCTIONS AT SALVATION ARMY CITADEL. Farewell meetings to Miss Bernice Fairbrother were held yesterday at the Salvation Army Hall, Masterton. Miss Fairbrother has been a good worker in. the local Salvation Army corps holding the position of pianist for the services and the choir, and has been very interested in the Sundayschool where she was a teacher. It was stated that Cadet Fairbrother had been a real help in the Sunday-school which she had attended in all its departments. Mrs Fairbrother, her mother, had been connected with the Army for many years and has held many responsible positions. Other members of the family were Salvationists or doing good work in other churches. The farewell meetings were well attended and Miss Fairbrother gave addresses at both services. The songsters sang her favourite anthems. Major Neeve in the evening made a solemn charge, and a very impressive service ended with the singing of the consecration hymn “Take my Life and Let it Be.” Salvationists and all her friends will wish Miss Fairbrother success in her new sphere of work. She will leave Masterton on Thursday for the Salvation Army College in Wellington.
