A MUSICAL EVENT
OSCAR NATZKE CONCERT. A musical event of the first importance will be the concert to be given on Monday, March 24, in the Opera House by Oscar Natzke, the famous New Zealand-born bass, and Kenneth Neate, the young Australian tenor. New Zealanders have had all too few opportunities of hearing Mr. Natzke in person. At the time of the Centennial Festival concerts he was suffering from an indisposition and his appearances were strictly limited. Now, for the first time, he will be able to display, in a full-length programme, his truly remarkable voice and the musicianship which has carried him in so short a time to the peak of musical fame in Europe. Mr. Natzke’s fellow-artist, Mr. Kenneth Neate, is a young Australian, whose tenor voice is hailed as “the most important musical discovery in Australia for a generation.” He made his first successes with the Sydney Police Choir, and has since sung in Grand Opera and at the Celebrity Concerts in all States. The accompanist and solo pianist is Mr. Henri Penn.
