Miss C. Hosking. Church Street, Masterton, is staying at Plimmerton. Mrs F. Herrick, Hawke's Bay, has been staying with her sister, Mrs W. R. Birch, Hapua, Taueru. Miss Doreen Kennedy, cpaki Road, Masterton, who has been visiting Auckland, has returned to Masterton. Mr and Mrs E. M. Hodder. Second Street, Lansdowne, are spending the weekend in Havelock North. Mr and Mrs C. Chapman, of New Brighton. Christchurch, are the guests of Mr and Mrs C. Lepper, Cornwall Street, Masterton. Miss M. H. Small, Masterton, who has been visiting Palmerston North, Wanganui and Foxton, has returned home.
The death has occurred of Mrs Leah Kitchen, wife of Mr T. G. Kitchen, a well-known business man of Hastings, and formerly of Palmerston North. She was a daughter of the late Mr Edward Dixon, and a member of a well-known Wellington 'pioneering family. After being married in Palmerston North Mi and Mrs Kitchen lived there for some years, and 27 years ago they went to Hastings, where Mr Kitchen set up in business on his own account.
