WAR TIME PROHIBITION
OPPOSED BY CANADIAN LABOUR. MEMORANDUM ADDRESSED TO GOVERNMENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Dav. 9.45 a.m.) OTTAWA, March 14. The Canadian Trades and Labour Congress expressed opposition to prohibition todav in a memorandum to the Dominion Government. “We learn from the Press that representations have been made to the Government either to introduce national prohibition or to drastiially restrict the sale of alcoholic beverages as war time measures.” the memorandom states. “Therefore we desire to reaffirm our belief that prohibition is anti-social and morally unsound.”
