SMASHING SUCCESS
GAINED BY THE R.A.F. FOURTEEN ENEMY PLANES SHOT DOWN. WITHOUT BRITISH LOSS. British fighters scored another smashing success in Albania yesterday, the 8.8. C. states, when they shot down fourteen enemy planes without loss. British fighteds were on an offensive patrol in the central sector of the front when they encountered a very large formation of enemy bombers with a fighter escort. In addition to bringing down fourteen enemy machines, the British planes severely damaged a number of others. Not one British machine was lost. GREEK VICTORY ITALIAN COUNTER-ATTACK DEFEATED. It is revealed that the Greeks not only defeated the Italians’ fiveday offensive, but counter-attacked and gained new ground. They are now consolidating the positions along a front of about 25 miles. The lota] number of Italian prisoners taken in the battle is now given as 4000.
