“WITHOUT THE PRINCE”

OPERA HOUSE THIS EVENING. LITTLE THEATRE SOCIETY PRODUCTION. Mr J. A. Kennedy can always be depended on for a sterling stage performance and in “Without the Prince, ’ which is to be presented by the Masterion Little Theatre Society in the Opera House tonight and Monday night, he is said to excell himself. His is a most exacting part in which he is required not only to portray a gentleman of the present time, but also to show that he is a skilled Shakespearian actor. Mrs Norman Beetham (nee Miss Jocelyn Betts) is happily cast as a charming and popular actress, Madeleine Lees. Mr M. M. Simpson is Wyndham Johns, a London theatrical manager. and displays very considerable skill in the portrayal of a somewhat uncultured person whose sole aim is box-office receipts. Mr J. Norrie’s village constable is a model of stolidity and devotion to duty. The play is delightfully humorous throughout, leavened by exactly the right amount of healthv pathos. The performance this evening is in aid of the Navy-Nursing Queen, and the one on Monday evening in aid of the Army Queen.
