It was decided to alter the monthly meeting night from Monday to Wednesday. The Foreman’s report for February stated inter alia: During the month two heavy floods 'occurred in the river, necessitating two visits to clean out the sumps, which were fairly full. The sumps were thoroughly scrubbed out on each occasion. Opportunity was taken on one of the visits to dismantle the shed on the reserve. This has been brought into the depot. Some of the iron is fairly good, while some is very rusty. The timber is fairly sound and would come in handy for various jobs around the town. One new service was run, and the long service to Mrs Jensen’s property, was lifted, cleaned and replaced. Sewerage: No blockages occurred in this system during the month. The outfall drain from the septic tank will require attention. The river is scouring under the line, and some of the pipes have broken away. One application for a service was received and the pipes ordered; unfortunately this has been held up, owing to the property owner wishing to secure a revised price from the plumber. OBITUARY MR W.
