AUSTRALIAN SUPPLIES. Orders worth £2.000,000 have been placed in Australia for supplies for the fighting forces in India, Burma, and East Africa, since the Eastern Group Conference at New Delhi in December. Details of orders for armaments and munitions are withheld, but others were orders for 1,000,000 yards of woven material, 500,000 pairs of socks, 30000 blankets, 300.000 pullovers, 180,000 singlets, 120,000 pairs of drawers, and a similar number of service caps. Army field wireless sets and accessories costing £360.000 occupy a conspicuous place on the list, and aircraft deliveries include Tiger Moths, with spare parts, to Burma. Other articles include steel helmets, furniture, leather and enamel ware, water bottles, steel tubes and general stores. Orders for processed foodstuffs amount to more than £5OO 000.
