PROPOSED EXPENDITURE IN BATAVIA. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 9,30 a.m.) BATAVIA, March 12. Supplemental Defence Bills have been submitted to the Volsraad asking for 29,300,000 guilders for “a new and improved defence of the Indies,” including 5.000,000 whereby the Government will share the cost of new munitions works with private enterprise, 10,000,000 for the purchase of antiaircraft guns, nearly 2,000,000 for automatic rifles, and 40,000 for enlarging shipyards.
