FIRES IN MASTERTON

TWO OUTBREAKS YESTERDAY. LITTLE DAMAGE DONE. The Masterton Fire Brigade received a call by street alarm at 5.26 o clock yesterday afternoon to an outbreak of fire which occurred at the rear wing of the residence of Mrs E. Colban, 16 Miriam Street. The Brigade under the Superintendent, Mr T. B. Clark, speedily extinguished the fire. Little damage was done The house is owned by the T. Wagg Estate. A second call was received by the brigade at 8.10 p.m., to an fire in a detached wood and tool shed at 61 Cornwall Street. The property was owned by Mrs. E. J. Barker of Palmerston North, and occupied by J. L. Fulton. Slight damage was done by fire and water.
