♦ LACK OF SHIPPING SPACE CRISIS REFERRED TO BY MINISTER. CONFERENCE TO BE HELD TOMORROW. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. “The crisis arising from the shortage of refrigerated shipping space will be discussed at a conference of all. the meat interests, be held in Wellington on Friday,” said the Minister of Marketing, Mr Barclay, in an interview last night. The Minister promised to make a full statement at the end of the week. “We have called from all over New Zealand representatives of the Meat Board, the Sheepowners’ Federation, the freezing companies and operators, the Pig Marketing Association, the Dairy Board, the Farmers’ Union, and all other meat interests,” Mr Barclay continued. “We have asked them to assemble to hear the whole position. We are going to put the whole of the cards on the table, and ask for cooperation in meeting a very difficult position. A full statement will then be made.”
