The total collections in the Heart to Heart appeal in the County of Eketahuna was £1,324 Is Id, the returns from the several districts being as follow: —Newman £7O 8s 4d; Hamua £l3O 12s; Hukanui £142 18s 8cl; Nireaha £l5O 10s; Rongokokako £100; Kaiparoro £62 14s 6d; Alfredton £3lB 9s 6d; Tiraumea £212 10s; Putara £22 6s 6s; Rongomai £104; total £1,223 9s 6d. The above represents the total raised as a direct effort by the several Patriotic Committees. In addition to this several amounts have been paid into the appeal as a result of efforts not arranged by the Patriotic Committees, the proceeds in each case being placed to the Heart to Heart appeal, and also some contributions were forwarded in direct. Details are: —Hukanui £l3 10s 7d; Hamua £4 13s; Alfredton £65; Kaiparoro £'3; Rongomai £l4 8s: total £lOO 11s 7d. This gives a grand total for the Eketahuna County of £1.324 Is Id. The quota for the County on a population basis was given at £1,200 and this has been well exceeded. That the several Patriotic Committees have carried out their work with a will, and that the people have responded freely is much appreciated and credit is due to them for the success of the appeal.
