A GOOD IDEA

MAKE THE GLASS SHINE. It is a good idea to put one day aside for special cleaning jobs, such as the windows, mirrors and glassware. One way to clean mirrors is to wipe them over first with a damp sponge and then polish with a soft rag. Dust over with very fine whiting before the final polish. Another method is to make a paste of whiting and methylated spirit. This should be rubbed over the glass, left on until dry and then polished with a soft, dry cloth or chamois leather. A void using water on mirrors as it is likely to seep between the frame and glass. Windows can be cleaned just as simply. Add about a tablespoon of methylated spirit to a bowl of water and wash. The addition of the spirit makes the glass dry off quickly, makes polishing easier and eliminates the possibility of smears.
