CHINESE WARPLANES

ENEMY CONCENTRATIONS BOMBED. JAPANESE ASPIRATIONS. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) LONDON, March 10. A communique issued in Chungking states that Chinese warplanes on Sunday bombed Japanese concentrations and military objectives in Ichang. They all returned safely. "All Japan wants in a free hand and a better China,” said the former Japanese Ambassador to Germany. Lieutenant-General Oshima, in an interview with the “Voelkischer Beobachter” in Berlin. "We desire conquest no more than Germany is fighting this war for conquest. That which the nations of the Tripartite Agreement already know should be realised everywhere—that conquest by violence is immoral.” Referring to America. LieutenantGeneral Oshima added: “It appears to me that she does not want to understand our honest will for peace.” CHINESE FUNDS. DEPOSITS OF NATIONALS OVERSEAS. CHUNGKING, March 10. The People's Political Council today passed a motion urging negotiations with the United States and British Government toward turning over to the Chinese Government all deposits of Chinese nationals in British and United States banks. Depositors, under the council’s plan, would be reimbursed with Chinese war bonds. The council also passed a motion urging the Chinese Government to improve the administration of the Burma Road.
