COURT OF APPEAL
OSTLER CASE 'TO BE HEARD NEXT MONDAY. IBy Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. 'l’he Court of Appeal made fixtures for the hearing of several appeal cases this morning in the sessions commencing today. Among them is the appeal of Harold Alexander Ostler and Travers Burnell Christopher Christie, which has been set down for hearing ■on Monday, March 17. At the making of the fixtures the Chief Justice said the Registrar had had letters from Ostler and Christie which stated that they wished to have a fixture for argument on their appeals. He said every facility should be given to enable them to present their cases to the Court. Mr H. Taylor, for the Crown, said he understood that arrangements had been made to enable them to corrie to Wellington to argue their cases. (Ostler and Christie were convicted j and sentenced last month to imprisonment for attempting to publish a sub-] versive statement).
