R.A.F. RAIDS IN ALBANIA AND AFRICA HARBOUR & AERODROMES BOMBED IN TRIPOLI AREA. MUCH DAMAGE TO KEREN ROAD. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.35 a.m.) RUGBY. March 9. A R.A.F. Middle East communique states: "In Albania R.A.F. bomber formations, in support of the Greek army operations, attacked Italian troop concentrations and motor transport at Tepelene and on the Glava-Buzi Road. Direct hits were obtained on buildings and roads. Two fires were started. In Libya, during the night of March 7 R.A.F. bombers attacked the harbour at Tripoli. Bombs were observed bursting on the railway line. Enemy aerodromes in Tripolitania were also were bombed. R.A.F.., bombers inflicted considerable damage on the Keren-Asmara Road in Italian East Africa and attacked enemy troops and positions in Keren areas. South African fighter planes machine-gunned and burned out two oil dumps and a lorry south of Asmara.

From all these operations our planes returned safely.”

Mogadishu to Harrar. On other fronts the extension of British areas of occupation is proceeding with many additions to the .number of prisoners already taken.

GERMAN CLAIMS (Received This Day 1 p.m.) LONDON, March 9. A Berlin communique states: "German bombers on Saturday attacked R.A.F. bases in north London, on the east coast of Scotland and in the Orkneys and destroyed a large number of planes on the ground. “A violent attack on harbour and dock installations in London last night caused several large and a number of small fires and explosions. A bomber also,scored hits on Portsmouth harbour works.”
