COMING BATTLE

CONFLICT IN THE ATLANTIC BIG TASK FOR NAVY. MAINTENANCE OF FOOD AND WAR SUPPLIES. A warning that victory would be won over Britain, and in the coming battle of the Atlantic, and not in Africa was given by Mr. Ernest Bevin, Minister of Labour, when speaking to dock workers at Newcastle, a 8.8. C. broadcast states. The Navy, he said, had an enormous task to maintain food supplies and war materials to Britain. The enemy had not yet struck his heaviest blow. Mr. Bevin stated that all shipyards had been placed under the control of the Admiralty so as to give the greatest possible efficiency and capacity in new building, and in carrying out repairs.
