CARTERTON SALE. SATISFACTORY PRICES. Messrs Wright. Stephenson and Co.. Ltd., report: A big yarding came forward at our Carterton sale yesterday. Competition for sheep was not as strong as last week, but nevertheless prices were satisfactory. Cattle were firmer, while pigs sold al late rales. The following are realisations: — Sheep: Fat wethers. 19s 8d to 22s 9d; fat ewes, to 14s; fat maiden S.D. ewes, to 22s 3d; b.f. lambs, 14s lid. 16s (id to 17s; 2th ewes. 22s 6d. 235, 24s to 24s 7d; s.m. ewes. 10s lOd, Ils 3d to 12s 6d; shorn wether lambs, 10s 6d to Ils; ewe iambs. 13s 7d to 14s 9d; woolly wether lambs, to 15s 10d; small b.f. lambs. 12s 3d to 13s 6d; small wether lambs. 9s 6d. Ils to Ils 6d; Southdown rams. £2. £3 to £4: Romney rams, to £2 2s; Romney ram lambs, Llgns to 2jgns. Cattle: Spg cows. £9. £9 10s, £lO to £lO ss; fat cows. £4 10s to £6 10s; forward cows. £3 7s 6d to £4 ss; store cows, £2 5s to £2 19s; heifer calves, to £3; bulls, £5 to £7 7s 6d: fat heifers £5 to £7 19s.
