QUEEN CARNIVAL SUCCESSFUL SHOP DAY. ("Times- Age" Special.) The Town Queen’s supporters held a. successful shop day in the Crown Theatre yesterday. The various stalls were well laden and the public were present in large numbers. During the afternoon, competitions were held and in the evening the New Entertainers kept the crowd interested till a late hour. The following competitions were completed: Mrs. Nesbit's cake, Mrs. Blissett; plaques, Mrs. Kenning; Mrs. H. Orr’s cake. Miss Askew; bread board. D. Heyler; cake, Mrs. B. S. Morgan; cake, G. Wiggins; sweets, Betty Sykes; chocolate biscuits, Gladys Gray; cord of wood, Mrs. Peterson; Messrs. Bunny and Gates's sucking pig. Mrs. Ward; tin of biscuits, A. Stuart: iced cake, Mrs. O. Skeet. Other prizes were won by S. Paku. R. Vance, Miss Udy, P. McHardy, J. Hardie, Knowles Smith, Miss Murray, I. Wilson, E. Kane, N. R. Hume, Mrs. Duff, A. N. Moy, W. Rewi, I. Hood. J. Lyford. Mrs. Whimp, G. Lowe. Kai Tora Girls’ Club. The Kai Tora Girls' Club will hold a “Back to Childhood” Dance tonight. The Town Queen, Miss Betty Shedden, is a member of this club, and the proceeds from tonight’s gathering will be in aid of her candidature.
