ALBANIAN CAMPAIGN
LIVELY ARTILLERY ACTIVITY GREEK SUCCESSES. REPORTS OF HEAVY ITALIAN LOSSES. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.25 a.m.) •RUGBY, March 7. A Greek communique announcing the success of a full day s actions in six words says: “Lively artillery activity crowned with success.” An amplified bulletin from the Athens Press Ministry states: “Greek artillery, firing with great accuracy, scored positive results against enemy positions. Greek anti-tank artilleiy destroyed a tank. The Italians claimed to have bombed and hit port installations at Mytilene in the Aegean Sea but actually the Italians dropped bombs in the Gulf of Gera, all tailing into the sea. “An Italian officer prisoner stated that the Fifty-third Regiment of the Sforcesca Division, which took part in the fighting north-west of Tcpelene on February 17, was completely wiped cut. all the officers being either killed, wounded or taken prisoner, while the men suffered similarly. Much material was taken. The commanding officer of the regiment. Colonel Alfieri Bassi. committed suicide.”
