Middle East communique states: “R.A.F. bombers yesterday attacked enemy warships 50 miles south of Valona. A large formation of enemy fighters escorting the warships were engaged by our fighters and nine enemy aircraft were shot down, while others were damaged. Another attack was made by our bombers on enemy warships off Valona. "On all fronts in Italian East Africa air support was given to our advancing troops. Two of our planes have not yet returned.”
