"THE GHOST COMES HOME.” That outstanding comedy, “The Ghost Comes Home," will be finally shown tonight. “NEW MOON.” Together for the sixth time, Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy add prestige as the screen’s favourite romantic team in “New Moon,” which will be shown tomorrow night at the Regent Theatre. Set against the colourful background of 1780 New Orleans,, the plot sketches the story of a lady of noble French birth and a man who, masquerading as a bondsman, manages to elude the guillotine by dropping his official title as the Due $e Villiers. His dream of a reepublican form of government is realised when, cast upon the shores of an island remote from shipping lanes, he sets up a community with the members of his shipwrecked crew and the passengers of the boat. “New Moon," which he and his men seized on the high sea. The action moves from New Orleans to the island and is replete with many romantic as well as comedy situations. The varied musical score by Sigmund Romberg is one of the finest ever presented in a MacDonaldEddy musical. Miss MacDonald’s solos include the famous “Lover Come Back To Me." “One Kiss," “Paree,” and "Rondilet.” Together with Eddy she sings “Wanting You,” while the "Largo” number is sung by Miss. MacDonald with a choir. Eddy’s songs include “Softly As In a Morning Sunrise,” “Stout Hearted Men,” and “Shoe Shine Song,” and a male quartette renders the lilting’"Marianne.” A cast of more than fifty speaking roles is seen in support of the co-stars.
