LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST CHANGE TONIGHT. IMPROVEMENT ON SATURDAY. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— GENERAL SITUATION: A trough of low pressure is crossing the South Island. FORECAST: Strong north-west wir.ds; weather cloudy and warm but a temporary change to southerly tonight with showers and cooler temperatures. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Improving on Saturday.
