ELEVEN ITALIAN PLANES DESTROYED OPERATIONS IN ALBANIA. HURRICANES BAG' SEVEN. Hurricane fighters escorting bombers attacking Valona aerodrome had a highly successful day, states an announcement broadcast by the 8.8. C. During the operation the Hurricanes met a number of Italian machines and shot down seven. Another two Italian planes were destroyed when they collided in mid-air. Altogether, eleven Italian planes were accounted for on Thursday, as two others were shot down by Greek anti-aircraft fire. ISLAND LANDING BRITISH TROOPS WITHDRAW. AFTER COMPLETING MISSION. According to a broadcast by the 8.8. C. the British troops which landed on the Italian island of Castellorizzo a few days ago have been withdrawn, after having comoleted their mission. MUCH DAMAGE LARGE NUMBER OF BOMBS FALL ON AERODROME. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.37 a.m.) RUGBY, February 28. In the R.A.F. attack on the aerodrome at Valona a very large number of bombs exploded all over the aerodrome. Hangars . and administrative buildings were hit repeatedly. All the British aircraft returned safely.
