THE WATER SERVICE BREAKS IN PIPES. (“Times-Age” Special.) The work of cleaning water pipes and mains in Carterton was carried out yesterday and after turning the pressure back through the mains again weak spots were found, with the result that several breaks in the pipes occurred. The borough staff soon repaired the damage. ST. MARK’S CHURCH HARVEST THANKSGIVING. The annual Harvest Thanksgiving Services will be held at St. Mark's Anglican Church on Sunday. The Vicar states that all gifts of fruit and vegetables will be sent, as heretofore, to the Wellington City Mission. PATRIOTIC SPORTS OVER £BOO REALISED. The following is the net receipts for the various stalls, etc., and the expenditure in connection with the effort to raise funds for Carterton and district towards the Hcart-to-Heart Appeal. The result (£B3O 12s) is an excellent one and the committee who worked so hard to ensure this result are to be complimented on their effort.
