CONVOY ATTACKED
R.A.F. ACTIVE IN ALBANIA ENEMY POSITIONS ALSO BOMBED LARGE FIRES BREAK OUT. The R.A.F.. states the 8.8. C.. successfully intercepted a convoy of Italian ships and a gunboat two miles from Valona and machine-gunned the vessels. British planes, in support of the Greek Army, bombed objectives in the Tepelene-Klisura area, scoring direct hits and causing large fires. The Italian headquarters were also machinegunned. ARTILLERY FIRE INTENSE ACTIVITY DURING NIGHT. SUPERIORITY IN THE AIR. <By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright* LONDON. February 26. The night communique in Athens states that there was intense artillery activity in various parts of the front. Two enemy aircraft were shot down and two were damaged by anti-aircraft fire. The Press Ministry stales that since February 10 the Royal Air Force and Greek Air Force have shot down 41 Italian planes over Albania. The Allied superiority in the air. it adds, becomes more evident every day. It was reported earlier today that snowstorms and heavy rains have been widely impeding operations in Albania. The Greeks maintained the initiative in minor engagements and some Alpinis were taken prisoner. British and Greek aircraft were busy over the battle zone.
