Mr Richard English. Hamilton, has been elected president of the New Zealand Society of Accountants. Mr J. H. Jerram has been appointld a member of the Public Service Appeal Board. The Hon. F. Jones. Minister of Defence, will leave Wellington today for the South Island. He expects to be away from Wellington for several days. Mr. E. R. Rogers, secretary for Messrs. Thomas Borthwick and Sons, Ltd., has returned to Masterton after visiting Australia. Mr W. F. Stilwell. S.M.. has been appointed chairman of the Public Service Appeal Board for a period of three years from February 10, 1911.

Mr Malcolm Fraser has been appointed a member of the board of trustees of the National Art Gallery and Dominion Museum by the Wellington City Council. Major J. G. C. Wales, M.C., who has been staff officer in charge of training at Pnpakura Camp, has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant-colonel and he has boon transferred to the Expeditionary Force. Air Commodore H. W. L. Saunders, M.C., D.M.C., M.M., has been invited by the Mayor, Mr. T. Jordan, to visit Masterton on the occasion of the appearance here of the Band of the Royal New Zealand Air Force on March 8 and 9. In reply, Air Commodore Saunders states that if it is at all possible. he will visit Masterton.
