"ißebecca.” 2. ‘ Foreign Correspondent.” 3. “The Long Voyage Home." 4. “The Grapes of Wrath." 5. "The Great McGinty." u. "The Letter.” 7. "Our Town." 8. -Boom Town.” 9. ‘Arise My Love.” 10. “The Mortal Storm." Here are other results of the voting:— Best performance by an actor — Spencer Tracy in "Edison the Man." Best performance by an actress — Bette Davis in “The Letter." Best achievement in directing— John Ford for “The Long Voyage Heme." Two most promising newcomers' ol 1940—Laraine Day and William Holden. Miss Day had “My Son. My Son." and "Foreign Correspondent" jts well as two appearances in the Dr, Kildare series, and Mr Holden had "Golden Boy” and "Arizona."
