Following upon an inquiry into the professional boxing contest at Palmerston North on December 28, between Strickland and the Alabama Kid, the New Zupland Boxing Council imposed a £5 fine on the Manawatu Assbebtion and censured the association fur giving the boxers .1 guarantee instead of observing the rule which slipukites that eontvstants shall divide the purse on the basi;; of 60 per cent l 5 the winner and 40 tier mil to the l-. ;.er. The council also rewmed she licence of the Alabama Kid for a breach of hit contract with the M.-.nawatu Associ;r lion.
