SECOND GERMAN RAID ON SWANSEA I — ! MEMBERS OF DEFENCE CORPS KILLED. FIRES QUICKLY CHECKED. I (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright ) ' (Received This Dav. 12.15 p.m.) LONDON, February 21. Swansea suffered its second successive attack by the Luftwaffe last night and business premises were severely damaged during a long , raid. Several members of the Civil Defence Corps were killed. Many people are homeless and rest centres have been established in various parts of the town. Two high-explosive bombs fell in a 1 roadway, digging large craters and ; tearing down the fronts of buildings | for some distance. Incendiary bombs ' set fire to a whole row of workers' ; dwellings, but. firefighters prevented I the flames from spreading. A few raiders, flying high, attempted to reach London during daylight. but were driven off by anti-aircraft fire. No bombs were dropped.
