TRAFFIC CONGESTION

WAIRARAPA RAIL-CAR SERVICE. ANALYSIS OF POSITION BEING MADE. A complete analysis of weekend train and rail-car traffic to and from the Wairarapa is being made by the Railways Department, with a view to seeing if some solution can be found to relieve the serious congestion that occurs on Sunday night services from the Wairarapa to Wellington. Air J. Robertson, M.P., who has made representations to the General Manager of Railways. Mr E. Casey regarding the position, has been advised that this action is being taken. The difficulty, states Mr. Robertson, is that people who travel to the Wairarapa on Friday night, on Saturday and on Sunday morning all want to return on Sunday evening.
