LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST SETTLED PERIOD. DISTURBANCE PASSES NORTHWARD. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meterological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— GENERAL SITUATION: The disturbance has passed rapidly northwards and an anti-cyclone is approaching. FORECAST: Moderate southeasterly breezes tending easterly and decreasing; some isolated showers at first on the East Coast: otherwise weather fair to fine: cool night but day temperatures rising. FURTHER OUTLOOK. Indications are for a spell of settled weather. The southerly change moved away much faster than was expected. At Castlepoint 39 points of rain were recorded and at Cape Palliser 18 points.
