BOWLING INTER-CLUB MATCH POSTPONED. (“Times-Age” Special.) Owing to the Ahiaruhe-Ponatahi Sports and the Carterton District Patriotic Committee’s gathering on Saturday, the Booth Cup match between Masterton and Carterton will not be played. < BOY SCOUTS CARD PARTY LAST NIGHT. The weekly card tourney hold in the Bandroom. Carterton, last evening, under the jurisdiction of the Boy Scout Movement, was well attended.' The prizes were won as follow: —Ladies: Mrs M. Ticehurst 1. Mrs J. Finn 2. Men: Mr H. T. Ray 1, Mrs O'Halloran 2. Patriotic Effort. The ladies’ committees successfully canvassed the town and district yesterday for donations to the patriotic effort on Saturday. Arrangements are complete for the gathering during the day and at night time. Today a combined working bee is very busy making preparations on the Showgrounds. Boy’s Wrist Broken. An injury was sustained by Alan Knowles, a son of Mr and Mrs W. E. Knowles, of Belvedere, last evening. Along with other children he was playing and fell doubling an arm beneath i him and breaking the wrist. The boy' was taken to Greytown Hospital where] the wrist was set. Tar Scaling of Streets. The Carterton borough staff, taking advantage of the spell of fine weather, has been busy doing much needed tar; sealing of streets. It is hoped that the] weather will keep fine to enable the] carrying out of the plan mapped out! by the council. ;
