The full text of an Italian communique with reference to parachutists says: “The enemy landed parachutists in the district of Calabria (Southern Italy.) Their object was to destroy lines of communication and damage a local hydro-electric power station. Owing to the vigilance and prompt intervention of defence units, all the parachutists were captured before they were able to cause serious damage. "One gendarme and one civilian were killed in the engagement. The High Command warns the Italian public to watch for more parachutists.”
