SIX SHIPS
BELIEVED I'o HAVE BEEN SUNK BY GERMAN SURFACE RAIDER ATTACK ON ATLANTIC CONVOY. SURVIVORS REACH MADIERA. More than 100 survivors from ships of the British convoy attacked in the Atlantic have been landed at Madiera, the 8.8. C. reports. Four were taken to hospital. Six ships are believed to have been sunk in the attack but there is no official news to confirm this. A German surface raider, believed to be a pocket battleship, shelled the convov for half an hour and its fire was returned by all the vessels m the convoy.
