SUSTAINED RAIDS
\ ON ENEMY AERODROMES IN SICILY CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE DONE. ALL PLANES RETURN SAFELY. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, February 12. An R.A.F. Middle East communique states: “The R.A.F. carried out successful raids on the aerodromes Comiso and Catania in Sicily, during last night. The aircraft, which arrived over their target at intervals of 20 minutes, raided for five hours and dropped many high explosive and incendiary bombs. “At least four enemy airccraft were destroyed on the ground at Catania. In addition large tires were caused which were visible over GO miles away. A hangar received a direct hit, resulting in a heavy explosion. "At Comiso, fires wore started which burned for a considerable period. "All our aircraft returned .safely.” ITALIAN ADMISSIONS (Received This Dav, 1.10 p.m.) LONDON. February 12. An Italian communique admits another air raid in Catania and also on Addis Ababa aerodrome. It says violent fighting is proceeding in the Keren sector, in Eritrea.
