WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MEETING AT NIREAHA. (“Times-Age" Special.) Despite the wet day there was a good - attendance of members at the monthly . meeting of lhe Nireaha Women's Institute. Mrs. N. Terry presided. Mrs. Burnett (Woodville) president of the Bush Federation was present as were also several other visitors from 'Woodville and Hastings. After the meeting had been opened in the customary manner. Mrs. Terry welcomed Mrs. Burnett and presented her with a shoulder spray on behalf of the Institute. It was the unanimous opinion of those present that the school for officers be held at Eketahuna. Two letters of appreciation were received from soldiers overseas for parcels, one recipient being Corporal J. Mason, of the Nireaha district. It was decided to prepare and dispatch further parcels of biscuits at an early date. Nominations for officers for the ensuing year were received. The Roll Call. “What I Would do if I were President.” brought forward many interesting and helpful sugj gestions. Mis. Burnett gave a most interesting description of her tour of the Continent. Mr. Fordyce also reported that an epidemic of ringworm had broken out al the school and that whooping cough was also prevalent. The matter of cutting the grass at i the secondary school was left to the secretary to attend to. It was decided to spend £1 <>n library books.
