Carr and Shearer is) are the ' club's pairs champions for the 1940-41 season. Carr has also proved to be the successful competitor in the singles. The club members extend their congratulations to him upon his consistent good play. The semi-final and final games resulted as follows: — Pairs: Semi-final: Carr and Shearer (s) beat Smith and Brown (s). 22 17. Final: Carr and Shearer is) defeated Spackman and Thompson <s), 26 22. Singles: Wallace beat Simpson. 20 13 in the semi-final, but in the tinal was defeated by Carr. II 18. Spackman Cup (colts’ singles): Cooper beat Nee. 20 19; Moore beat Whale. 19 15; O’Donnell beat Andrews. 18 15. BOOTH CUP AND SHEILD. As the Featherston Club is unable to find sufficient players to make the trip, the Booth Cup game will not be played between Park and Featherston. In the Shield match to commence at 2 p.in. on Saturday on the Park green, the following have been selected to represent the home club: Taylor. O’Donnell. Braggins. Carr (s). |
