REGENT THEATRE
“THE WORLD IN FLAMES." The packed house on Saturday night at the Regent Theatre had placed before it a magnificent programme. containing three brilliantly outstanding pictures—" The World in Flames," “Mystery Sea Raider," and the capture of Bardia by the British troops, principally Australians. “The World in Flames.” which will be finally shewn tonight is a picture no one can afford to miss who is desirous of being thoroughly conversant with the- events leading up to the present war. The tragedy of Europe is vividly placed before the audience in a most astounding picture. The descriptive explanations made by those actually on the spot where the terrible war havoc took place in various countries makes the picture one that will be long remembered. In a most explicit manner the i vital points associated with those!
occurrences leading up to the present war, the ambitions and aims of the Axis members and all that is associated with the determination of the enemies of Britain to smash democracy and keep the world under the heel of brutality and slavery as represented by Hitler and his gang are portrayed. The capture of Bardia presents a realistic picture of modern warfare, and shows the brilliant work of the British troops, and the thousands of Italian prisoners taken and material captured.
Henry Wilcoxon. Carol Landis and Onslow Stevens are the stars of “Mystery Sea Raider." an exciting fictional account of how the Germans may have secured merchant ships as raiders.
"TWO GIRLS ON BROADWAY " There will be no pictures at the Regent Theatre on Tuesday night owing to the presentation of "The Gondoliers" by the J. C. Williamson Co. On Wednesday night there will be presented "Two Girls on Broadway," a gay comedy romance featuring the latest screen sensation. Lala Turner, as well as George Murphy and Joan Blondell. Il is a picture full of comedy and romance. and is one of the brightest presentations of the year.
