BOMBING RAIDS
MADE BY BRITISH PLANES IN BAD WEATHER ENEMY MACHINES SHOT DOWN IN BRITAIN. AND LN NORTH SEA. Defying bad weather, a small force of aircraft of the British Bomber Command on Saturday night raided Western Germany. Industrial objectives in Mannheim were attacked successfully. Single aircraft of the Bomber Command attacked Rotterdam and Flushing, and patrol aircraft of the Coastal Command attacked an enemy shipping supply ships’ convoy, escorted by destroyers, off the south coast of Norway. One British aircraft is missing, the B B.C. reports. Enemy air activity was reported at several places over Britain and one place in Scotland yesterday. A Heinkel was shot down in the North Sea by a British warship, and another enemy! raider was destroyed by lighters off the! East Coast.
