The Nolan Hack Cup went Alexcelia. A surprise was recorded in the Rotorua Cup when an outsider. Black Musk, won easily by a length and a half from another outsider in Erlick. Mona’s Song, an outsider, accounted for the principal event at the Gore meeting. The Poverty Bay meeting saw Boldstep win the Sunderland Stakes, the Summer Hack Handicap going to Indian Sun.
